About Susan
I spent my childhood in San Marino, a southern California suburban community, with good schools and many opportunities. In 1964 after high school graduation, I applied to VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America – the domestic Peace Corps), but was rejected due to not having enough life experience. Fifty years later, after a lifetime of experiences, I discovered senior citizens were welcome to join the Peace Corps. My retirement plan became clear. The application and medical screening process took me 2 years to complete, and now I’m ready for the opportunity to serve in the West African country – The Gambia.
